چکیده

This paper proposes a packetized direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) multimedia wireless communication system that allows for seamless interfacing to asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) broadband networks. The issue of reverse link power control is examined in the context of an indoor environment characterized by a slowly Rayleigh fading channel. Three algorithms are discussed: open loop, channel estimation, and closed loop power control. It is shown that closed loop power control with channel estimation achieves the best performance. The system capacity with perfect power control is calculated. The eeect of power control imperfection on the capacity and received signal statistics is studied based on computer simulation. It is shown that actual cell capacity using a two-bit power control command is approximately 40% greater than that using a one-bit power control command at the expense of twice the feedback overhead.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Performance of Reverse-Link Synchronous DS-CDMA System on a Frequency-Selective Multipath Fading Channel with Imperfect Power Control

We analyze the performance for reverse-link synchronous DS-CDMA system in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel with an imperfect power control scheme. The performance degradation due to power control error (PCE), which is approximated by a log-normally distributed random variable, is estimated as a function of the standard deviation of the PCE. In addition, we investigate the impacts o...

In this paper, we propose smart step closed-loop power control (SSPC) algorithm and base station assignment based on minimizing the transmitter power (BSAMTP) technique in a direct sequence-code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) receiver in the presence of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading. This receiver consists of three stages. In the first stage, with conjugate gradient (CG) adaptive ...
